It also mandates the Commerce Department to develop guidelines for watermarking AI-produced content. Furthermore, the order allots funds for AI research and promotes hiring in the federal AI sector, introducing a dedicated job portal, AI.gov. Experts and industry observers have lauded the move, highlighting the essential role of government in addressing AI's societal impacts and the urgent need for resources to tap into AI's potential benefits.

One notable item in the Order: Any AI model that required more than 1e26 floating point operations or 1e23 integer operations to build must report to the government.
