MidJourney V5.2 is Here, and It’s Awesome [Link]

V5.2 includes an “outpainting” feature that allows users to zoom out, change the aspect ratio of the image, or even change the prompt in between the zooms from just a click of a button. Something that is really fun and easy to use.

Prompt Analyzer is another new feature in V5.2. This mini-tool can tell you which words in your prompt actually matter and can suggest shorter prompts for you, which helps to push MidJourney users to the culture of using shorter instead of longer prompts.

Today, Stability AI announces SDXL 0.9, the most advanced development in the Stable Diffusion text-to-image suite of models. Following the successful release of Stable Diffusion XL beta in April, SDXL 0.9 produces massively improved image and composition detail over its predecessor.

The model can be accessed via ClipDrop today, with API coming shortly. Research weights are now available, with an open release coming in mid-July as we move to 1.0.

The ability to generate hyper-realistic creations for films, television, music, and instructional videos, as well as offering advancements for design and industrial use, places SDXL at the forefront of real-world applications for AI imagery.

Group-IB Discovers 100K+ Compromised ChatGPT Accounts on Dark Web Marketplaces [Link]

Cybersecurity firm Group-IB has discovered over 100,000 devices infected with info-stealing malware that contained compromised ChatGPT credentials. The compromised credentials were found within logs traded on dark web marketplaces. The number of available logs peaked at 26,802 in May 2023. Group-IB's research shows that the Asia-Pacific region has experienced the highest concentration of compromised ChatGPT accounts being offered for sale. Unauthorized access to these accounts could expose confidential information and potentially lead to targeted attacks against companies and their employees. Group-IB's Threat Intelligence platform monitors cybercriminal forums and marketplaces to identify compromised credentials and other critical intelligence. The majority of logs containing ChatGPT accounts were breached by the Raccoon info stealer. Info stealers are malware that collects various types of data from infected computers and trade the information on dark web marketplaces. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for the highest number of ChatGPT accounts stolen by info stealers between June 2022 and May 2023, representing 40.5% of the total.

ChatGPT Told SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son His Ideas Are Great. Now He’s Investing Big in AI. [Link]

SoftBank Group Chief Executive Masayoshi Son says he has rekindled his appetite for investing in technology by talking with ChatGPT in the wee hours about ideas for inventions that the bot validated as wonderful.

Son, 65 years old, told shareholders Wednesday that the artificial intelligence tool helped revive his spirits after he had been driven to tears by the sense he was nearing the end of his career without having pursued his dreams.

“The time is approaching for us to go on the counteroffensive,” Son said at the annual meeting of the Japanese technology-investment company. “I want SoftBank to lead the AI revolution.”
